There’s No Place I Would Rather Be

We’ve all been in that place where we sometimes tend to wander away from the house of Jesus or from coming to him on our daily basis. We go about our daily routine thinking its ‘OK’ to leave Our Saviour out of our boats.

But then one day after the other we feel we’re empty. We become restless. We get lost and at some point we become hopeless, unaware of where we are going and we just want to go back home to Jesus.

To be honest, I’ve been there myself. I’d gone so far away from Him that I didn’t even who I was anymore. I didn’t know if God would forgive me and love me again. But that is why I am writing this to you. To tell you that more than you wanting to go back to your Heavenly Father, He is waiting for you to come to Him. (Isaiah 30:18)

The Word says that He will not cast off anyone who comes to Him. He will not constantly accuse us of our sins but He will generously forgive us when we confess our sins. (Psalms 103: 9 – 12)

In the parable of the prodigal son from Luke chapter 15, we see that the younger son of the house decided to pack up his bags one day and leave with his inheritance from his father. Yet, that decision left him lost, lonely and wandering aimlessly. He even lost track of his identity and went from being a son to a servant. He thought if he went back to his Father’s house he could at least be a servant there. But at the end, he still returned to his Father’s house.

So, here’s a glimpse of the Father’s heart on seeing his son coming back to Him. The Word says the father was waiting outside his house to see if his son would return and when he saw him from a distance he ran and hugged him, kissed him and embraced him without even a second thought. He even threw a party for him!

The son simply confessed that he had sinned against him and Heaven and asked if he would accept him as his servant. Yet the Father simply gave him a ring, robe, a pair of sandals and restored him to his position as His son again.

This is the very reaction of our Father when we return to Him. He not only rejoices over you and me, but restores us everything including our identities as His son and daughter, when we come back to him. (Restoration)

Maybe this is you. Maybe you have wandered away, and feel lost and lonely, confused of who you are, maybe even unloved, without purpose. But, there’s always a place where you are loved, forgiven, and accepted unconditionally. A place where you have a purpose and an identity, a future and a hope. NOWHERE BUT IN JESUS.

Today let this understanding be instilled in your heart that no matter how far you’ve gone away from your Father, and no matter how much you’ve messed up, JESUS IS WAITING FOR YOU.

He loves you and His love will not let go. He rejoices over you, delights in you and wants you to come back to His waiting arms. So what are you waiting for? Go, run to Him! Get ready to be celebrated! Get ready for Joy! Get ready for restoration!
