Celebrating Ministers of The Word

– we are all equal, yet God has placed them to serve, minister & watch over you.

Ephesians 4:12 NLT
[12] Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

– character of a minister of God’s word

1 Timothy 3:2 NLT
[2] So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.

– danger of false teachers

2 Peter 2:2 NLT
[2] Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.

– hurt by abuse by celebrity teachers

Philippians 1:17-18 NLT
[17] Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me.

[18] But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice.

Do we need to celebrate them?

How do we celebrate them?
