Celebrating Ministers of The Word
– we are all equal, yet God has placed them to serve, minister & watch over you.
Ephesians 4:12 NLT
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
– character of a minister of God’s word
1 Timothy 3:2 NLT
So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.
– danger of false teachers
2 Peter 2:2 NLT
Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.
– hurt by abuse by celebrity teachers
Philippians 1:17-18 NLT
Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me.
But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice.
Do we need to celebrate them?
How do we celebrate them?
